Things you should know about Hope Uzodinma, Imo state governor elect

Hope Uzodinma is a Nigerian politician who serves as the Governor of Imo State. On January 14th 2020, the Supreme Court in Nigeria declared Hope Uzodinma as the governor of Imo State on grounds that the gubernatorial elections which was held in Imo State was void.



Our correspondent (Eric Patrick) learnt that he was also elected Senator for the Orlu (Imo West) constituency of Imo State, Nigeria, in the April 2011 federal elections.



According to his Wikipedia page, he ran on the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) platform. His election was challenged on the grounds that he was not the valid PDP candidate, but on 5 May 2011 the supreme court declared that his election was valid.



Out correspondent (Eric Patrick) noted that the fiery Catholic priest of Enugu Diocese, Ejike Mbaka, had sent a jittery to the camp of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state when he prophesied on the eve of January 1, that Ihedioha would be sacked and that Uzodinma would become the governor of the state.









Below are things you need to know about Hope Uzodinma the newly governor elect in Imo







1. He was born  12 December 1958

( 61years).



2. He finished from Mgbidi Secondary School Mgbidi (1982) and obtain a diploma in transport



3. He was inaugurated today, 16th January, 2020 under the All Progressive Congress (APC)



4. Position:Governor of Imo State.









5. According to his Wikipedia page,  he picked the APC ticket seven months after he left  his Former party,  the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).



6. He came fourth behind Emeka Ihedioha (PDP), Nwosu (Action Alliance) and Ifeanyi Ararume (All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).



7. According to the results INEC released,  Ihedioha polled 273,404 votes, Nwosu, Ararume and Uzodinma secured 190,364; 114,676; and 96,458 votes respectively. Uzodinma .



8. He challenged the victory of Ihedioha up to the apex court and won.
