Two siblings, Shater Abomnger, 10 and Terhide Abomnger, 8, on Saturday, drowned at Lake Nguembi near St. Thomas Catholic Church in Gboko, Benue State.

They allegedly drowned while searching for used plastic containers around the lake. According to an eyewitness, Shater had slipped into the water and Terhide also drowned while lending a helping hand to his brother.
He said in his 15 years of living in the community, he has witnessed over 30 of such cases.
