Inter Milan are unclear about Romelu Lukaku's stance on a transfer to the club after the striker went quiet on them amid reports Juventus have contacted Chelsea. 

It has been a chaotic affair since Chelsea activated the Belgian's release clause of €115m in the summer of 2021 shortly after helping Inter to the Serie A title and scooping the league's MVP.

After one season in blue, he returned to Inter Milan on loan after a fallout with Thomas Tuchel. With the German gone weeks after the player left, it was expected he would return to the club but strongly reiterated desire to remain in Italy. 

Todd Boehly's Chelsea have decided not to stand in his way but set conditions to rejoin Inter and made it clear to the Italians that another loan is not an option. 

Recent reports from Italian media via Di Marzio suggest there could be new twists in the plot. The former Everton striker refused to respond to Inter Milan's calls despite the decision to match Chelsea's offer.

The player has reportedly been speaking to Bianconeri through his lawyers after the club offered the same amount to Chelsea with a better structure, but hinged it on the sale of Dusan Vlahovic, whom the Blues once had an interest in. 

This has not gone down well with the Milan side, who are having a taste of their irresponsible behaviour toward the player. Juventus were infuriated with Chelsea after their contact made headlines.
