An FCT police squad has arrested three students in the death of a bolt driver identified as Obasi Okeke at Bingham University in Abuja.
FCT Police Chief Haruna Galba CP, who introduced the suspect to reporters on July 20, announced that on June 5, the dead body of the Bolt driver was found in a pool of blood with his throat cut in Nugu near Area 11 Galki Abuja.
He said three suspects, Ovasheene Inemesit Inemesit Aaron Anthony and Arasan Ayomide Olusegun, were arrested following an intense search to identify the perpetrators of the insidious act, but two of them were students at Bingham University and were suspended.
"As the investigation progressed, the deceased was found to be a bolt driver who had been summoned by one of the suspects to take him to the Guzape district of Abuja, where he had purchased Indian hemp."
They decided to give it a quick try by showing the deceased's mobile phone a fake debit notification, but the deceased claimed not to have received the notification.
"During the ensuing altercation, one of the suspects pulled out a knife, cut the throat of the deceased and fled the scene," he said.
Galba said the three suspects have now confessed to the crime and will soon be charged in court.
