Osimhen wants Man United, Real Madrid moves – Bagni

Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen is looking to move to Manchester United or Real Madrid ahead of other top clubs seeking his talents in Europe, Saturday PUNCH reports.

Former Napoli legend, Salvatore Bagni who was part of the Napoli side that won the Scudetto and Coppa Italia double in 1987, alongside Diego Maradona has said that he does not expect Osimhen to return to a country where he has already played and will accept nothing less than Champions League football.

“Victor Osimhen won’t be returning to France because he already played there. The same thing with Germany,” Bagni said.

“He is not going to Liverpool or Chelsea because they are not playing in the Champions League. Of all the teams involved with him, for me, he would only go to Manchester United and Real Madrid. He’s not interested in the other teams.”

Osimhen is linked with Bayern Munich, but started his senior career at Wolfsburg, while PSG’s hopes of taking the Nigerian may be hampered by the season the 24-year-old spent at Lille in 2019/2020 before joining Napoli, if Bagni’s prediction is to be believed.

Liverpool finished in fifth place in the Premier League last season, and will play Europa League football, while Chelsea will be absent from European competition completely after finishing 12th in the top-flight of English football.

According to Football News based on transfer rumors and statistics medium, Transfermarkt, Osimhen scored 31 goals in 39 games across all competitions for Napoli, making him one of the top strikers in the continent, and he is the third most valuable striker in the world at €120m behind only Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland who are both valued at €180m.

Osimhen became the first African to be crowned Goal King of Italy this season, scoring a total of 26 Serie A goals.

He surpassed the feat of one-time World Footballer of the Year George Weah, Samuel Eto’o and Obafemi Martins to become the first striker from Africa to finish top scorer of the top league.
