Stop protesters, bring back peace - Buhari tells Trump

Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday has called on U.S President Donald Trump to bring back peace to the country over the ongoing protest at capitol.

Stop the protest and bring back peace, it should be a peaceful protest Buhari added.

Buhari in his message to Trump said, more lives should not be lost for the country and the world at large has gone through tragic times fighting covid-19.

However, Buhari has called on Trump's pro protesters to stop the riot and help fight against bad government, protesting is not the answer to peace, he added.

THEWATCH NEWS gathered that thousands of Americans have called for the impeachment of Trump.

Our correspondent from the US revealed that a female protester was shot dead by a police officer, three others including a capitol police officer were killed.

"Like all Americans, I am outraged by the violence, lawlessness and mayhem," Trump said, adding that he had "immediately" deployed the National Guard.

Emotions are high now, but tempers must be cooled and calm restored," the president continued.

"We must get on with the business of America. My campaign rigorously pursued every legal avenue to contest the election results. My only goal was to ensure the integrity of the vote."
