COVID-19: UAE records 430 new cases as 760 more patients recover, one death

The UAE recorded 430 new coronavirus cases on Thursday, bringing the country's total to 46,563.

Officials announced a further 760 people had recovered from the virus across the country as this tally moved to 35,165.

One more patient died after contracting Covid-19, pushing the death toll in the Emirates to 308.

Authorities revealed an additional 49,000 tests had been carried out as part of the UAE's mass screening strategy.

The latest figures continue the recent encouraging trend of recoveries outpacing numbers of new cases.

The UAE is continuing to ease Covid-19 restrictions, while urging members of the public to act responsibly to help limit infection rates.

On Wednesday night, Dr Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesman for the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority announced stay-home orders in place for three months had been lifted with immediate effect.

It means residents - who were told to previously to remain indoors after 11pm in Dubai and 10pm in the rest of the country - can now venture outside once more.
