Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr shops for Eagles home ground for 2019 AFCON qualifiers
















Super Eagles coach, Gernot Rohr yesterday inspected the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna, with the hope of having the national team, play their home game of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Libya there.





Rohr who arrived Nigeria on Sunday was at the Stadium in company of League Management Company (LMC) chairman, Shehu Dikko to inspect the facility. Dikko told reporters after the inspection visit they have had a look around the arena and will now and make recommendations about its suitability to host Eagles matches.







He also said renovation of the stadium will commence with immediate effect to put the stadium in order.


The Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, which recently hosted the African Athletics Championships has also been considered to host one of the home games for the Super Eagles. The team will be away to Seychelles on September 8, and will host Libya in October.





The Godswill Akpabio International Stadium Uyo, hosted the first qualification match against South Africa a game they lost 2-0. The Ahmadu Bello Stadium staged a 2017 AFCON qualifier against Egypt in March 2016 and Nigeria was fined for overcrowding after the match.





Officials confirmed to thenff.com that  Rohr will on Friday this week release his list of invited players for the away clash with Seychelles.
